About Chef
Geoffrey Tulloch

Twenty years of experience working as a chef across the globe culminated in him starting his own boutique catering business

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Geoffrey Tulloch was most inspired by his mother who prepared dishes that were nothing short of perfection of authentic Jamaican flavors reflecting both his families & the islands strong multi-ethnic roots.

The youngest of ten siblings, Tulloch’s interest to refine his culinary arts piqued from his strong influence of his eldest brother the late Owen Tulloch, the Caribbean’s first rum Master Blender at Wray and Nephew who created several of Jamaica’s signature Appleton rums.

Drawing from his international experiences in Jamaica, Venezuela, Brazil, Italy and now New York City, culinary arts has become Tulloch’s life passion for over twenty years. He made his mark in NYC at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Plaza and also as the Executive Chef and event planner at Mood Food, creating events such as Food and Wine Magazine’s Top Chef Awards, launching The Gourmet Cookbook by Ruth Reichl, and the Bon Appetit Cookbook by Barbara Fairchild. Tulloch has also managed intimate dinner parties for celebrities including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Molly Ringwald, and Tom Cruise to name a few. In 2002, Tulloch started his own boutique catering business, Geoffrey Emerson Events catering for elite business clientele in Manhattan.

Following his strong passion for giving back, Tulloch began teaching in 2006 at the Culinary Training Institute and found teaching culinary arts to be exciting and very rewarding. Tulloch now inspires the next generation of aspiring chefs at NYC’s only Culinary Arts High School, Food and Finance High School, where he has taught since 2009.

He has won a series of awards for his teaching efforts:

– “Outstanding Career and Technical Teacher Award”, 2011 and 2016;

– “New York Daily News Hometown Hero Award”, 2014;

– “The Ely Trachtenberg award for teaching”, 2016.

Over the last five years, Tulloch has been featured in television commercials and has been interviewed by the UFT newspaper, New York 1, New York Daily News, CBS television, and the New York Times.
